News Buckley to Launch Hartford SummerStage with Broadway by Request Tony-winning actress Betty Buckley will bring her latest cabaret evening Broadway by Request to Hartford Stage as part of SummerStage in July.

After premiering at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in February, Buckley has been announced to offer five performances of Broadway by Request from July 8-11 in Hartford.

Buckley's latest show allows audience members to select songs from her vast repertoire of stage roles, including Cats, Sunset Boulevard, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Song and Dance and more, infused with personal anecdotes about each selection.

Buckley received a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. Her numerous Broadway appearances include 1776, Pippin, Carrie, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Sunset Boulevard and Triumph of Love. Buckley earned an Olivier nomination for her work in the West End as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and also appeared in Promises, Promises. Her screen credits include "Eight Is Enough," "Tender Mercies," "The Happening," "Wyatt Erp," and "Oz." Buckley previously appeared in the Hartford Stage production of Tennessee Williams' Camino Real.

SummerStage offerings also include the previously announced Umbilical Brothers in Thwak! (July 15-Aug. 2), as well as Vanessa Rubin starring in Yesterdays – An Evening with Billie Holliday (Aug. 15-22).
