News Buffalo's Cedric the Entertainer to Star in ABC Comedy Pilot Cedric the Entertainer, who made his Broadway debut earlier this season in the short-lived revival of American Buffalo, will star in a new comedy pilot for ABC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will executive produce and star in "The Law," which "revolves around reserve police officers for the LAPD who balance their full-time off-duty lives with the excitement of being weekend cops." The script for the pilot was penned by Bob Fisher, who will also executive produce with Cedric, Charles Segars, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

ABC Studios and DreamWorks TV are collaborating on the project.

Cedric the Entertainer (Missouri-born Cedric Kyles) is an actor-comedian whose film credits include "The Original Kings of Comedy," "Be Cool," "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins," "The Honeymooners," "Madagascar," "Ice Age," "Man of the House," "Barbershop" and "Barbershop 2," among others.
