News Building Fire Forces Second Stage to Cancel Tonight's Other Thing Performance Emily Schwend's ghostly drama The Other Thing, which began previews May 12 at Second Stage Theatre's uptown theatre, has canceled tonight's performance due to a fire.

The theatre released the following statement: "Due to a fire this morning in the apartment building attached to our theatre, we regrettably have to cancel tonight’s performance of The Other Thing. We plan to resume performances tomorrow, Thursday, May 14."

Patrons are advised to call the box office to reschedule at (212) 246-4422.

Directed by Lucie Tiberghien, The Other Thing will have its official opening night on May 21. Notable among the cast is John Doman, currently featured in the Fox series "Gotham" and best known for his role on HBO's "The Wire." The cast also features James Kautz, Bhavesh Patel (Indian Ink) and Samantha Soule (Philanthropist).

The Other Thing follows journalist Kim on her assignment to cover a team of ghost hunters in rural Virginia. Taking place outside a haunted barn, the show follows Kim as she waits for the spirits to reveal themselves--only to find that the ghosts are closer than she thinks. 

The production features scenic design by Kris Stone, costumes by Beth Goldenberg, lighting design by Matthew Richards and sound design by Broken Chord. The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is located on Broadway at 76th St. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by visiting 2ST.com or calling (212) 246-4422.
