The national tour of Burn the Floor has been canceled. The show is now on hiatus until September, said production sources. The production will resume with an eight-week tour of U.S. cities in the fall.

"They wanted to re-tool part of the production," a show spokesperson said, "because they're doing larger arenas and playing larger houses. They wanted to go back and fix the production so they can come back and play longer dates in the fall."

A press statement announcing the cancellation reported that "refunds for Burn the Floor are available at the point of purchase including all Ticketmaster locations, Hudson 57's, Harmony House and Repeat the Beat. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster via phone or online will be refunded by mail. Tickets must be mailed to: Ticketmaster, PO Box 2191 Southfield, MI 48037.   As reported earlier, Burn the Floor was inspired by a dance extravaganza performed at Elton John's 50th birthday celebration, which inspired producer Harley Medcalf to recruit top talent from the disparate worlds of theatre, ballroom dance and rock 'n' roll. Burn the Floor is said the present "ballroom dance with a contemporary edge."

Burn the Floor's canceled dates included the following engagements: New York City's Radio Music Hall, April 5-6, Atlantic City's Tropicana April 7-9, Boston's Wang Center April 13-16, Pittsburgh's Civic Arena April 18-19, Cleveland's Convocation Center April 21-22, Detroit's Fox Theatre April 25-30, Minneapolis' Orpheum Theatre May 2-3, Chicago's Rosemont Theatre May 4-7 and Atlanta's Fox Theatre May 10-14.
