Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's A View From the Bridge will close Aug. 29, a week earlier than previously announced, but a tour is under discussion, according to production spokesman John Barlow.

The revival, which won the 1998 Tony Award as Best Revival of a Play, will have played 251 regular Broadway performances and 23 previews. Anthony LaPaglia originated the role in this production, and won the Tony Award as Best Actor in a Play.

The production opened at Roundabout's Criterion Stage Right theatre in fall 1997 and transferred to a commercial run at the Neil Simon Theatre starting April 4. The production was to have ended its run there July 19, when LaPaglia left the central role of Eddie Carbone. The production was then extended to Sept. 5 when actor Tony Danza (TV's "Taxi," Wrong Turn At Lungfish) assumed the role, and now has been scaled back slightly to Aug. 29.

Barlow said there's no word yet on who is being considered to play the Carbone role on the possible tour, or where the tour would stop.
