A memorial service for Philip Barry Jr., son of playwright Philip Barry, will be held 3 PM, June 9 at Broadway's St. James Theatre (rescheduled from the day before). Barry Jr. produced such TV dramas as "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman," "Queen of the Stardust Ballroom" and "Friendly Fire." His dad penned Holiday, The Philadelphia Story, A Punch For Judy, Bright Star and Liberty Jones.
Barry Jr., 74, died of cancer May 16. The St. James Theatre, 246 West 44th St., currently houses the musical High Society, which was adapted from the aforementioned Philadelphia Story. Philip Barry Jr. served as consultant on High Society.
