A memorial tribute to Donna Coe, former cabaret and comedy columnist for the New York Post (1991-95) and NY Daily News (1995-March 1998), will be held July 12 at Caroline's Comedy Club in Manhattan (1626 Broadway at 49th St.). The public is invited. A 3:30 PM reception will precede the service, which is scheduled to get underway at 4:15 PM. Coe, 47, died June 13 after a prolonged illness, according to cabaret spokesman Jim Baldassare. Two days earlier Coe had married her fiance, Jim Tatum, in her hospital room.
A graduate of University of Miami's theatre department, Coe appeared with the Miami improv troupe "Intensive Care Unit." As a journalist, she covered comedy for the trade publication Back Stage and was nightlife editor for City Guide magazine. She also contributed to Playboy, US Magazine, TV Guide and Billboard.
