Variety reports that the 76-year-old Short was forced to cancel his Thursday performance at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. This marked the first time the legendary performer has missed a performance in his lengthy career. The industry paper also reports that the singer will undergo a series of tests, but Short is confident he will be able to begin his 35th year at New York’s Cafe Carlyle May 6.
