News Cape Rep to Present Anthony Minghella Reading, Speech and Debate in 2011 Winter Season Cape Rep has announced its 2011 winter season, which will include a musical revue, a drama about a high school sex scandal, a reading of an Oscar winner's screenplay and more.

The season at the Brewster, MA, theatre will begin Jan. 7 with Mama and Her Boys, an original revue that will "feature an eclectic mix of musical theatre, pop and folk songs coming together to humorously and poignantly explore the relationship between mothers and sons," according to press notes. Cape Rep company members Ethan Paulini, Christopher Sidoli and Wendy W. Watson will appear in the show, accompanied by Joan Kirchner at the piano. Performances are scheduled for Jan. 7-8 at 7:30 PM and Jan. 9 at 2:30 PM and 7 PM.

Stephen Karem's Speech and Debate will perform Jan. 14 and 15 at 7:30 PM and Jan. 16 at 2:30 PM and 7 PM. The tale of three high school students who come together when a sex scandal involving one of their teachers breaks out will be directed by Ethan Paulini and will feature Brendan Cloney, Sean Maddox, Devon McFadden, Martha Paquin and Vicki Summers.

True Story Theatre of Boston will come to Cape Rep Jan. 22 at 7:30 PM and Jan. 23 at 2:30 PM for "two exciting performances using playback theatre, improv, music and dance."

The theatre will host a Story Slam in its Community Room. The themes for each night, in which guests are invited to sign up to present their own stories, are "Stories of Passion" (Feb. 4) and "Planes, Trains and Zip Line: Modes of Transportation" (Feb. 5).

A reading of the screenplay of the 1990 film "Truly Madly Deeply," written by the late Academy Award winner Anthony Minghella ("Nine," "The English Patient"), will take place Feb. 12 at 7:30 PM and Feb. 13 at 2:30 PM. Champagne, sweets and live music will be part of the reading. Cape Cod artists, musicians, actors and celebrities will each present their take on a Shakespearean Sonnet Feb. 19 at 7:30 PM and Feb. 20 at 2:30 PM.
