Though his last two Broadway shows -- Candide and Parade - proved unsuccessful, producer-director Harold Prince has a lifetime body of work worth drawing on and celebrating. Hence a concert at Carnegie Hall tonight, March 19, conceived by Prince's own son, Charles.

As reported by Newsday and confirmed by the Carnegie Hall press office, Len Cariou, Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley and Elaine Stritch will be among the performers at the New York Pops concert, titled "The Broadway Prince." The orchestra, conducted by the aforementioned Charles Prince (assistant conductor of the Pops), will draw on shows throughout Prince Senior's career, including The Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story.

Songs on the program include "If I Were A Rich Man," "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina," "Not While I'm Around," "All I Ask Of You" and "Old Man River."

Cariou starred as the title character in Sweeney Todd, Danieley did the same in Candide; Stritch played Parthy in Prince's revival of Show Boat, Mazzie starred in Stephen Sondheim's Passion.
