Fat Camp was previously seen as part of the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival and has a book by Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker, music by Matt roi Berger and lyrics by Randy Blair. Performances will run July 13-24.

The production is part of a newly created venture between PlayhouseSquare and The Dodgers, who have produced The Secret Garden, Tommy, Titanic, Urinetown and Jersey Boys on Broadway. Fat Camp is the inaugural production in its "Page to Stage Program," which invites theatre writers to develop Broadway-aimed productions, while allowing Ohio audiences to provide response and feedback as the creators hone their works.

Jibson, a veteran of Broadway's Hairspray and Cry-Baby, appeared in the NYMF and 2010 workshop productions of Fat Camp. She will be joined by several former "campers," including Buchanan (White Noise, The Addams Family), Mackenzie Bell (Jersey Boys), Michael Mendez (The Grinch…), Larry Owens, Josh Segarra, Cale Krise, Nancy Renee Braun, Tricia Burns, Molly Hager and Katie Weber. Newly added are Dickinson (9 to 5), Loprest (Little House on the Prairie, Wonderland), Charles Barksdale, Injoy Fountain, Marcus Neville (The Full Monty), Babs Rubenstein and Ari Stidham.

Casey Hushion, who associate-directed Minsky's, will direct the PlayhouseSquare production. Connor Gallagher is choreographer with arrangements and musical supervision by Jason DeBord.

Rock of Ages producers Carl Levin and Michael Minarik, who also produced the 2010 reading of Fat Camp, are partnering with The Dodgers on the PlayhouseSquare developmental run. The Dodgers previously teamed with PlayhouseSquare on the musicals Pump Boys and Dinettes and Jersey Boys. "We are most excited to be back in Cleveland at PlayhouseSquare, participating in their inaugural 'Page to Stage Program' with Fat Camp," said Tony-winning Dodger co-founder Michael David in a statement. "The Dodgers have had a long history developing shows at PlayhouseSquare and we are most appreciative for the opportunity to nurture this young, new production; to get it up on stage and to experiment, to refine, to try to find our feet with the support of the Playhouse staff, and the audiences of Cleveland."

According to PlayhouseSquare, "Fat Camp tells the tale of a summer spent at Camp Overton. Where secrets, sex, s'mores, and self image collide in a coming of age rock musical like no other!"

Tickets for Fat Camp, starting at $10, are available by phoning (216) 241-6000 or by visiting PlayhouseSquare.
