Carolee Carmello and Stephen Bogardus have been tapped by "Reprise! Broadway's Best in Concert" to star in the l956 musical Bells Are Ringing, which will be performed May 12- 23 (14 performances only) at the UCLA Freud Playhouse.
Obie Award-winner Carmello (who replaces the previously announced Jean Smart) triumphed as the ill-fated Lucille Frank in the original Broadway company of the Harold Prince musical Parade at Lincoln Center. Carmello also performed with Bogardus in Falsettos on Broadway and in Los Angeles.
Bogardus has also been seen locally in City of Angels at the Shubert Theatre.
Others in the cast include Brooks Almy, Gary Beach, David Engel, Joe Joyce, Larry Raben, Lisa Simms and Steve Vinovich.
