Presented in collaboration with the Grammy Museum, the tribute to the late iconic American folk singer-songwriter will also feature the talents of Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal, Judy Collins, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey, David Amram, recent Grammy nominee Luther Dickinson with Sharde Thomas, Sarah Lee Guthrie (granddaughter of Woody Guthrie) and Johnny Irion, Kaia Kater, The Last Internationale, Roger McGuinn (of the Byrds), Tom Paxton with Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, Tony Trischka, and Josh White Jr. Larry Groce, producer and host of West Virginia Public Broadcasting's Mountain Stage, will host.
The evening will be recorded for future broadcast.
Seeger became a cultural hero through his outspoken commitment to the antiwar and civil rights struggles in the 1960s, and for environmental and antiwar causes in the 1970s and beyond. He wrote a number of folk standards, including “If I Had a Hammer” (with Lee Hays), “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?,” and “Turn! Turn! Turn!”
Cusack has a long resume of playing classic musical theatre roles on tour, regionally, and in London. She played Yvonne in the October 2016 Encores! revival of Sunday in the Park With George, which is now on Broadway.
