Williamstown Theatre Festival’s 2018 season will include Tony nominee Carmen Cusack, stage favorite Steven Pasquale, Tony winner Matthew Broderick, and more in a variety of productions, including a new musical and three world premieres.

The Main Stage season kicks off June 26 with the world premiere of Douglas Carter Beane’s The Closet, inspired by Francis Verber’s Le Placard. The Mark Brokaw-helmed production will feature Broderick, Jessica Hecht, Brooks Ashmanskas, and Ann Harada. Performances will run through July 14.

The Great Comet Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin will direct the world premiere of Lempicka, a new musical by Carson Kreitzer and Invisible Thread composer Matt Gould. Carmen Cusack, who recently reprised her Tony-nominated performance in the national tour of Bright Star, will play Rafaela, a free-spirited prostitute who guides an aristocrat through a life beyond opulence and wealth against the backdrop of the Russian revolution. Performances will run July 19–August 1.

Tavi Gevinson will star in a revival of Carson McCullers’ The Member of the Wedding, directed by Lila Neugebauer and running August 5–19.

WTF’s Nikos Stage lineup features the world premiere of Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside, starring Mary-Louise Parker and directed by David Cromer (June 27–July 8); the world premiere of James Anthony Tyler’s Artney Jackson directed by Laura Savia (July 11–22); Steven Pasquale in Theresa Rebeck’s Seared, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel (July 25–August 4); and Dangerous House, by Jen Silverman and directed by Saheem Ali (August 8–19).
