The performance will feature musicians from the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Emerson String Quartet, and other ensembles, as well as students, graduates, and faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, the Juilliard School, and the Mannes College of Music. Glenn Dicterow, the concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, will serve as concertmaster.
Indian pianist and conductor George Mathew, who organized the event, will lead the orchestra.
Tickets are $30 to $175, and are available at the Carnegie Hall box office or by calling 212-247-7800. Proceeds will go to the non-profit organization Doctors Without Borders.
