Classic Arts News Carnegie Hall's Season-Opening Gala, Featuring Cleveland Orchestra, Andsnes and R‹schmann, Airs Tonight on PBS Last week's opening gala for the new season at Carnegie Hall will be broadcast tonight on PBS.
The concert, to be aired as part of the network's Great Performances series, features Franz Welser-M‹st conducting the Cleveland Orchestra in festive music by Franz von Supp_ and Johann Strauss, Jr., Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17 and arias from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. Joining the Clevelanders are pianist Leif Ove Andsnes and soprano Dorothea R‹schmann.

In New York City, "Carnegie Hall Opening Night 2006" airs on WNET, channel 13 at 10 pm; check local listings for schedules and possible rebroadcasts.
