Classic Arts News Carol Vaness Cancels Seattle Concert for Health Reasons Soprano Carol Vaness has cancelled a joint recital with tenor Vinson Cole and pianists Robin McCabe and Craig Sheppard, scheduled for January 28 at Seattle's Meany Theater.
Health reasons were cited for the cancellation.

Vaness was forced to withdraw from Dukas' Ariane et Barbe-bleue at New York City Opera last fall because of injuries sustained in a car accident last summer. She was scheduled to sing the demanding role of Ariane.

Recent credits for the California-born singer include the title role in Tosca at the Metropolitan Opera opposite Luciano Pavarotti in spring 2004, and performances at the San Francisco, Vienna State Opera, and Hamburg State Opera in the same role.
