LOS ANGELES -- W. Colin McKay's contemporary drama, Children of Shame which takes a serious look at strife and intrigue in war-torn Serbia, has been extended to Oct. 4 (past a recent extension to Aug. 30.) The drama opened July 10 at the Lex Theatre in Hollywood and was initially scheduled to close Aug. 16.
In Children of Shame, a war crimes investigator agrees to become part of a secret operation seeking the indictment of a Serbian war criminal. The investigator encounters resistance from Christian missionaries who are attempting to protect women and children. The playwright addresses the duplicity, mistrust and misunderstanding among people with different agendas.
The production is presented by Blue Sphere Alliance, and is directed by the Alliance's Artistic Director and Founder Anthony Barna. It is produced by company members Christian Campbell, Russell Daniels and Morgan H. Margolis.
The cast includes Tricia Dong, Karen James, Mary Linda Phillips, Lee Spencer and Sandra Thigpen, all company members.
