Violinist Andr_ Rieu's The Flying Dutchman reclaimed the top spot after ceding it last week to Ren_e Flemings's Sacred Songs, which dropped to number two. Cecilia Bartoli's Opera Proibita remained at number three.

The biggest movers of the week included All Is Bright, a CD of Christmas music from Boston's Handel and Hayden Society, which reappeared at number 10 after previously dropping off the chart. Angela Gheorghiu's Puccini Opera Arias re-entered the chart at number 14, driven perhaps by the soprano's national television appearance on New Year's Eve.

On the classical-crossover chart, Il Divo's Christmas Collection finally loosened its hold on number one—and returned it to the foursome's smash debut album, Il Divo. Christmas Collection dropped to number three, and the soundtrack to Memoirs of a Geisha moved up to number two, its peak position. There were no new entries.
