News Cast Announced for Bartram and Hill's Not Wanted on the Voyage at Northwestern Theatre students from Northwestern University will test the new musical Not Wanted on the Voyage, penned by Story of My Life writers Neil Bartram and Brian Hill, beginning July 16 in Evantson, IL.

Presented as part of the American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University, the developmental staging of Not Wanted on the Voyage will be directed by Amanda Denhert (Stratford Festival's Cabaret) and run through Aug. 8 in the Ethel M. Barber Theatre.

AMTP promises a production "full of magic and spectacle, complete with rain, fire and a soaring eclectic score."

Based on the Timothy Findley novel of the same title, AMTP describes the production as "a provocative new musical about an ordinary family faced with extraordinary circumstances. Secrets lie just beneath the surface of this darkly funny, modern re-imagining of the Great Flood."

The cast features Sally Eidman, Andrew Howard, W. Chase Altenbern, Nate Lewellyn, Nate Trinrud, Laura Hulzenga, Betsy Hogg, Kelley Abell, Ava Davis, Lia Mignon Horton, KC Schlossberg, Kangmin Justin Kim, Britt Banaszynksi, Joey Eovaldi, Olivia Popovich, Darren Barrere, Brian Bohr, Andrea Hochkeppel, Devin Archer, Caitlin Collins, Brian Bohr, Lillian Cummings, Matt Deitchman, Alex Goldklang, Andrea Hochkeppel, Evelyn Jacoby, Jeff Meyer, Alok Nadig and Stephanie Park.

Not Wanted on the Voyage boasts a creative team including Tony-winning scenic designer Eugene Lee, costumer Melissa Torchia, sound designer Josh Horvath and lighting designer Lee Fiskness. David Holcenberg (Bye Bye Birdied, Mamma Mia!) will serve as music director with Fela! associate choreographer Maija Garcia as choreographer. Together Bartram and Hill have penned the musicals The Nightingale and the Rose, Clara’s Piano and Somewhere in the World. Their musical The Story of My Life played a brief Broadway run in 2009, garnering four Drama Desk Award nominations. PS Classics released the Broadway cast recording.

Last season AMTP presented the new musical Dangerous Beauty, which was penned by Jeannine Dominy, Michele Brourman and Amanda McBroom; and Girls vs. Boys, by Chris Mathews, Jake Minton, Nathan Allen and Kevin O'Donnell.

Stuart Oken and Dominic Missimi founded AMTP, which seeks to provide a nurturing environment for new theatre works within an educational setting.
