News Cast Set for Broadway-Bound Lippa Musical A Little Princess in California The cast for the world premiere of Andrew Lippa's Broadway-bound musical A Little Princess is set for the upcoming staging at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, California.

Featuring the music of Lippa (The Wild Party) and a book by Brian Crawley (Violet) based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, A Little Princess will play at the California venue, Aug. 25-Sept. 19.

Mackenzie Mauzy (Lizzie Borden, "Guiding Light") will star in the title role of Sara Crewe opposite Will Chase (Aida) as Captain Crewe. The cast also includes Kimberly King, Molly Bell, C. Kelly Wright, Jason Dendy, Remy Zaken, Brian Herndon, Lianne Marie Dobbs, Lyndsay Faye, Hayley Steele, Sophie Oda, Courtney Stokes, Lizzi Jones, Catherine Smith, Dawn Burroughs with dancers Carmichael Blankenship, Jesse Nager, Levensky Smith, Dennis Stowe, Asmeret Ghebremichael and Maia Evwaraye-Griffin.

The musical adaptation follows the story of a young daughter of an adventurer who is sent to a London boarding school, but soon finds adventure is also in her blood. Susan Schulman (the upcoming Little Women musical) directs with scenery by Heidi Ettinger (The Secret Garden) and costumes Catherine Zuber (Dinner at Eight).

TheatreWorks productions are mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts and the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto, California. The season is as follows: (subject to change)
