Casting has been announced for the Flat Rock Playhouse production of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors, which will play the Clyde and Nina Allen Mainstage October 6–21 in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Directed by Dave Hart, the cast will be led by Jeremiah James as the love-struck Seymour with Ryah Nixon (Broadway's 9 to 5) as Audrey. Flat Rock Playhouse Resident Lighting Designer CJ Barnwell will voice Audrey II.

The company will also include Preston Dyar, Mark Warwick, Dorian McCorey, Gia Asperas, Khadijiah Rolle, and Christopher D. Kirby.

Little Shop of Horrors follows the story of down-and-out florist Seymour, who discovers a bloodthirsty plant that he names after his unrequited love, Audrey. The score features “Suddenly Seymour,” “Skid Row (Downtown),” and “Somewhere That’s Green.”

The creative team also includes choreographer Christopher D. Kirby, music director Ethan Andersen, scenic designer Chris Mueller, lighting designer CJ Barnwell, costume designer LeeAnn Deaver, and sound designer Kurt Conway. Bill Muñoz will be the stage manager with Lindsey A. Moss as assistant stage Manager. Paul Feraldi is props master.

Little Shop of Horrors debuted Off-Broadway at WPA Theatre in 1982 starring Lee Wilkof and Ellen Greene, who repeated her work on screen and in a City Center engagement co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal. A Broadway production was mounted in 2003 co-starring Hunter Foster and Kerry Butler.

Tickets are $15-$50 and can be purchased by calling the Playhouse box office at (828) 693-0731, toll-free at (866) 732-8008, or online at
