News Cast Set for KC Rep-La Jolla Playhouse Co-Production of Peer Gynt Casting has been announced for the new five-actor production of Ibsen's Peer Gynt, which will premiere at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre in late April prior to arriving at the La Jolla Playhouse this summer.

David Schweizer will stage his adaptation of the Norwegian epic that will begin previews April 22 for a run through May 22 at Copaken Stage. Peer Gynt will play the La Jolla Playhouse June 28-July 24.

The cast will include Danny Gavigan (Peer Gynt/Buttonmoulder), Birgit Huppuch (Ase/Solveig), Luis Moreno (Peer Gynt/Troll King), Kate Cullen Roberts (Ingrid/Anitra) and Evan Zes (Peer Gynt/Mads Moen).

Designig Peer Gynt are David Zinn (scenic design), Christina Wright (costume design), Darrell Maloney (lighting and projections design) and Ryan Rumery (sound design/composition).

According to KC Rep, "Schweizer’s imaginative interpretation of Peer Gynt is a wild, hilarious and surreal theatrical adventure about a man who dreams, swindles and charms his way through life as he pursues his exhilarating quest for fame and fortune."
