News Casting Announced for Gilligan's Island: The Musical The national tour of Gilligan's Island: The Musical, based on the classic television sitcom of the same name, will arrive at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL, March 4 at 1 PM.

Directed by Pamela Hall, the cast features Ryan Bates as Gilligan, Devin Elting as the Alien, Joshua Nicholson as Mr. Howell, Shaun Rice as Skipper, Danni Simon as Ginger, Kevin Grant Spencer as Professor, Alexia Tate as Mrs. Howell and Kate Venezia as Mary Ann.

Gilligan's Island was penned by Lloyd Schwartz (book) and Hope and Laurence Juber (music and lyrics).

"Beginning with the #1 TV theme song of all time," press notes for the new musical state, "Gilligan, The Skipper, Mary Ann, Ginger, The Professor, and The Millionaire and his wife are shipwrecked and trying to get off the island. Natural disasters befall them, hurricanes, quicksand, etc., as they learn to get along and survive. Their biggest challenge comes from the U.F.O. and its Alien, who monitors their behavior. By the end of the play, the castaways manage to defeat the extraterrestrial and save the entire planet, while staying marooned themselves."

The creative team also includes scenic designer Douglas Grimm, costume designer Elizabeth Flores, lighting designer Graham Kindred and sound designer Demetrius Grandel. Gene Castle choreographs; Liz Snyder is musical supervisor.

Song titles include "Shipwrecked"/"Little Buddy," "It's Good to Be Rich," "Island Lullaby," "Lucky Guy," "The Legend," "Change Your Ways," "Things I Never Said," "Goodbye Island," "The Professor's Lament" and "World Apart," among others.
