News Casting Announced for June 3 and 5 Readings of New Musical Tusk Innovative Stages will present two staged readings of the new family musical Tusk June 3 and 5.

The musical, one of 18 productions chosen to be part of the 2004 New York Musical Theatre Festival, features a book by Steven Billing, Norman Rea and Steven Yuhasz; lyrics by Rea; music by Bryon Sommers with additional music by David Salih and Craig Strang.

Steven Yuhasz will direct a cast that includes Dan Sharkey, Chris Vasquez, Heidi Stallings, Marnie Baumer, Ashley Arnold, PJ Verhoest, Ethan James Duff, Sandra Bargman, Faust Pinedo, Judy Lombino, Matt Morris and Stacey Haughton with stage directions read by Brian McTaminey.

Tusk, according to press notes, "is a universal story of humanity and survival told by a family of elephants taken from their home in the rainforest and forcibly turned into circus performers. The story is told by a company of actors who never become elephants, but humanize the elephants' story as they engage the audience's imagination."

Tusk will be presented June 3 at 7:30 PM at the Park Hill Racquet Club, 2 Glenbrook Avenue in Yonkers, NY and at 2 PM on June 5 in the Community Room of the Mamaroneck Library, 135 Prospect Avenue in Mamaroneck, NY. There is a $5 suggested donation.
