Park of the York Theatre Company's Developmental Reading Series, Really Leary will be presented Feb. 15 at 7:30 PM. With book, music and lyrics by McPeek, the reading will feature the talents of Cherie Bessette, Sarah Byrne, Randolph Handel, Jason Hedges, Natacha Malakoff, Kenda McCraney, Carrie Mae Prince, Hailie Rowden, David Rubin, Bill Stephenson, Eric Swenson and Rhonda Wilson. Really Leary, according to production notes, "takes place in a near future alternative reality in which two 20th century icons are revived from cryogenic storage to compete head to head in the 2052 presidential election. Join candidates Walt Disney and Timothy Leary (just his head has been revived), Purlie Gates (heiress to the Mightysoft fortune and abandoned daughter of the defective second Bill Gates clone), Leary’s unusual campaign team, and the mysterious cyber-terrorist The Bad Apple in this hilarious socio-political musical satire."
