News Casting Complete for Beautiful Soup's Production of Liliom Complete casting has been announced for Beautiful Soup Theater's upcoming production of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom, which will open at The Celebration of Whimsy Feb. 26, 2014.

Helmed by artistic director Steven Carl McCasland, the cast will be led by Gerrard Lobo as the beautiful but brutish Liliom and Morgan DeTogne as the only woman he has ever loved, Julie.

The production will also feature Sara Hymes as Marie, Colin Fisher as Wolf, Kimberly Rogers as Mrs. Muskat, Kelly Reader as Louise, Orlando Iriarte as The Heavenly Magistrate, Laurie Sammeth as Mother Hollunder, Julian Goza as Ficsur, with appearances by Somie Pak, Barnaby Edwards and Luke Wise.

Hailli Ridsdale serves as production stage manager with lighting design by Molly Tiede.

Molnar's Liliom, the classic play that inspired Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein's musical Carousel, opened on Broadway in 1921 and starred Eva Le Gallienne. It was revived 11 years later, but has not seen a full production in New York City since.

A portion of proceeds raised from this production will benefit Safe Horizon, the largest victims’ services agency in the United States, touching the lives of more than 250,000 children, adults and families affected by abuse throughout New York City each year. The production will play The Celebration of Whimsy (formerly The Living Theatre) Wednesday-Saturday at 7 PM with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM. The run will conclude March 9, 2014.
