Director Tim O'Hare has announced his cast for the Colony Studio Theatre's final Second Stage Production of the 1999 season, Clifford Odets' The Country Girl, produced by Queen Medjied.

Odets' backstage drama about an alcoholic star attempting a comeback will feature Gil Bernardy, Kurt Boesen, Robert Budaska, Kelly Foran, Melissa Harrison, John Holt and Shannon Nelson.

Originally produced by Odets and Lee Strasberg in 1950, the play became Odets' biggest hit after Golden Boy.

O'Hare, who earlier this season directed the Colony's critically acclaimed production of Sean O'Casey's The Shadow of a Gunman, also directed O'Casey's A Pound on Demand at the Celtic Arts Theatre in 1993, for which he received Drama-Logue awards for direction and performance.
