We are happy to welcome guest celebrity blogger Kevin Chamberlin, a two-time Tony nominee for his performances in Dirty Blonde and Seussical. Chamberlin, who is currently playing Uncle Fester in the new musical The Addams Family, will blog for Playbill.com all week; his latest entry follows:

Wednesday is matinee day, which is one of my favorite days on Broadway. The energy of a matinee crowd is much different than an evening show. I have a couple theories as to why that is. Usually, the audience hasn't had any alcohol with dinner - so they're very attentive, even to the end. They usually laugh more because they're more awake, they haven't worked a 9 to 5 job and it's not at the end of their day. They're also a more savvy theater crowd. This evening
has been crazy - Colin Cunliffe is on for a sick ensemble member. He is our dance captain and swing. He's the first understudy to go on, and he's doing an amazing job. I have so much respect for understudies. It's the hardest job - especially when you cover all of the men, as Colin does. You have to know so many of the tracks.

I'm writing this at intermission and Colin is doing an amazing job. The audience is incredible tonight - a raucous house, so we're all happy that Colin's "Addams Family Broadway Debut" is a good show.

I have some good friends in the house tonight, so I hope the second act goes as well as the first! We're all heading to Joe Allen's after the show, my favorite spot to have a post-show drink. It just feels like old Broadway there. Very few places like that left in the theater district.
