LOS ANGELES -- The Tony Awards will be celebrated June 7 at a party held at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica, sponsored by the Actors Fund of America and Aid for AIDS. It will feature a live- feed broadcast from the New York ceremonies, plus the honoring of Gwen Verdon with the Julie (Harris) Award.
Over 600 guests are expected to attend, including many past Tony Awards honorees and other actors and celebrities.
In past the Tony Awards Party in L.A. was held at the restaurant Cicada, owned by Stephanie and Bernie Taupin. When Actors Fund of America became a co-sponsor and significantly increased the size of the event, the 1997 party was held at the Hollywood Palladium.
Guests at the June 7 party will enjoy cocktails hosted by Absolut Kurant, dinner catered by DC-3 Restaurant, and a live and silent auction of theatre memorabilia, trips and other items.
