News "Celebrity Duets" — with Lawless, Ribeiro, Rodriguez, Sparks and Thompson — Debuts Aug. 29; Brady Hosts The new reality series "Celebrity Duets" — hosted by former Chicago star Wayne Brady — debuts on the FOX television network Aug. 29 at 8 PM ET.

The eight celebrities who will compete on the weekly series include Chris Jericho, Lucy Lawless, Cheech Marin, Carly Patterson, Alfonso Ribeiro, Jai Rodriguez, Hal Sparks and Lea Thompson. Each week the celebrities will be matched with a recording superstar to perform a duet in front of legendary producer (and "Celebrity Duets" judge) David Foster.

Among the recording artists scheduled to appear are Clint Black, Michael Bolton, Belinda Carlisle, Taylor Dayne, Peter Frampton, Macy Gray, James Ingram, Wynonna Judd, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Brian McKnight, Aaron Neville, Smokey Robinson, Randy Travis, Dionne Warwick and Lee Ann Womack. Additional celebrities are also expected.

Viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorite celebrity performer following each episode. The first results show is scheduled to air Sept. 8 from 9-10 PM ET when the celebrity with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. The winning celebrity will receive a $100,000 cash prize, which will be donated to his or her favorite charity.

Host Wayne Brady is known for bursting into song as the host of the recent "The Wayne Brady Show" as well as for his improvisational skills on ABC's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Brady has also made guest appearances on television's "I'll Fly Away," "Home Court," "In the Heat of the Night," "Chappelle's Show" and "American Dreams." His stage credits include productions of A Chorus Line, Fences, I'm Not Rappaport, A Raisin in the Sun and Blade to the Heat. Brady made his Broadway debut as slick lawyer Billy Flynn in Chicago but recently withdrew from the upcoming La Jolla production of The Wiz.
