News Channing, Minnelli, Ripley, Garber and More Sing Happy Oct. 25 Liza Minnelli — currently in the headlines for her brief but heavily litigated marriage to David Gest — will join Marin Mazzie, Carol Channing, Ben Vereen and nearly three-dozen other stars for the S.T.A.G.E. Too concert event, Sing Happy: The Words & Music of John Kander and Fred Ebb, to benefit The Actors' Fund of America.

The Oct. 25 evening at Los Angeles' Luckman Fine Arts Complex will salute the works of Kander and Ebb, who have created such Broadway musicals as Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Act, Woman of the Year, Zorba and The Rink. (Minnelli, of course, starred in both The Act and The Rink and also appeared for a brief period in the original production of Chicago.) David Galligan will direct the 8 PM concert, which will feature musical direction by Ben Lanzarone.

As of press time, those stars scheduled to take part in the concert include Ian Abercrombie, Carol Channing, Carole Cook, Wilson Cruz, Nancy Dussault, Jill Eikenberry, David Engel, Bonnie Franklin, Victor Garber, Jason Graae, Ilene Graff, Neil Patrick Harris, Florence Henderson, Bill Hutton, Jane A. Johnston, Dale Kristien, Jane Lanier, Sharon Lawrence, Marin Mazzie, Gerry McIntyre, Liza Minnelli, Rod McKuen, Karen Morrow, Pamela Myers, Jack Noseworthy, Valarie Pettiford, Stefanie Powers, Charlotte Rae, John C. Reilly, Alice Ripley, Joan Ryan, Christopher Showerman, Michael Tucker, Ben Vereen, Tonja Walker-Davidson and Jon Maher. Concertgoers can expect to hear Ben Vereen offer Cabaret's "Maybe This Time" and a version of Chicago's "Razzle Dazzle" by the Tony-winning Hello, Dolly! star Carol Channing.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron — executive producers of Miramax's Oscar winning "Chicago" — will also be on hand to receive the Nedda Harrigan Logan Award. Together the producing duo has amassed 59 Emmy nominations, ten Emmy Awards, six Academy Awards, five Golden Globes and two GLAAD Media Awards. Among their credits are "Meredith Willson's The Music Man," "Annie," "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella" and "Gypsy."

The Luckman Fine Arts Complex is located on the campus of California State University at 5151 State University Drive. Tickets range from $40 $250, and sponsorships are available for $2,500-$25,000.
