Busch told Playbill, “I'm thrilled to be performing in Palm Beach for the first time. It was scheduled for last September but the show was canceled due to bad weather. Although the show is called An Evening With Charles Busch, the repertoire will be the same as [his new club act] My Kinda 60s. This show that we premiered at [the New York City club] Feinstein’s 54 Below in October is my favorite of all of our cabaret shows.’”
The Tony Award-nominated author, actor, and drag legend has written (and often starred in) four decades of offbeat plays including Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Psycho Beach Party, The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Charles Busch's Cleopatra, and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife.
Charles Busch: My Kinda 60’s weaves tales of his Manhattan childhood and adolescence raised by his “indomitable Aunt Lillian” during that tumultuous decade, with a musical narrative that mixes the period pop of Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, the Beatles, Henry Mancini, and Bob Dylan, with show music by Stephen Sondheim, Kander and Ebb, and others.
