Busch's Shanghai Moon begins previews Off-Broadway on Jan. 3. Busch—who, prior to Allergist's Wife, performed in most of his own plays, typically in drag—stars in the piece, produced by Drama Dept.
O'Donnell will co-produce the musical with London producers Adam Kenwright and Michael Fuchs. Said O'Donnell, "I'm going to produce this Broadway show [Taboo] — it's going to be huge. The musical Taboo mixes fact with fiction as it tells a love story against a backdrop of the gallery of characters who helped make the 1980's London club scene the most exciting in the world. Among these were Steve Strange, Leigh Bowery, Marilyn and Philip Sallon and Boy George himself.
Boy George himself starred in the London production of the show at given times. In could not be learned whether the former Culture Club lead singer would star in the Broadway mounting.
