News Charlie Rose Welcomes Two Dames April 25 Veteran stage and screen stars Dame Maggie Smith and Dame Judi Dench will guest on "The Charlie Rose Show" April 25.

Smith and Dench will discuss their latest joint project, the new film "Ladies in Lavender." The film, from writer-director Charles Dance, concerns two elderly sisters whose lives are changed in pre-World War II Cornwall by the arrival of a young Jewish musician. Smith and Dench play the sisters with Daniel Bruhl as the musician from Krakow. Maggie Smith won a Tony Award for her performance in Lettice and Lovage and was also nominated for her work in Night and Day and Private Lives. Judi Dench won a Tony for her work in Amy's View. Both are Academy Award winners, Smith for "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and "California Suite" and Dench for "Shakespeare in Love." In addition to "Ladies in Lavender," the actresses also co-starred in the London production of David Hare's The Breath of Life.
