News Charlotte Cornwell to Star in World Premiere of Between Us at London's Arcola Theatre Charlotte Cornwell is to star in the world premiere of Between Us, a new play by Sarah Daniels that will begin performances at London's Arcola Theatre (which also commissioned the play) May 28, prior to an official opening May 30.

John Burgess will direct a cast that also includes Georgina Rich, with further casting to be announced.

The play is described in press materials as a darkly comic glimpse into the way we live now that asks how we have allowed it to come to this. What do stand-up, being a proud father, therapy and adoption have in common? They’re all different ways of feeling good about yourself. But what happens if this is not enough?

Daniels has had many plays produced at the Royal Court, including Ripen Our Darkness, Masterpieces, The Devil’s Gateway, Byrthrite, Beside Herself and The Madness of Esme and Shaz. She has also had Neaptide and Dust both produced at the National.

Director Burgess was co-founder of the National Theatre Studio and Head of New Writing at the National Theatre from 1989-1994, where his productions have also included Serjeant Musgrave’s Dance, Antigone and The Prince of Homburg.

Cornwell starred in TV's "Rock Follies" in 1975, prior to joining the RSC, where her credits included Henry Vl Part 1, As You Like It and Much Ado About Nothing. In 1984 she joined the National Theatre Company, where credits included Wild Honey opposite Ian McKellen, The Road To Mecca, Futurists with Daniel Day-Lewis, Richard III, Lady In The Dark and An Enemy of The People. In 2000 she moved to Los Angeles, where her stage work included The History Boys and A Little Night Music, as well as television guest appearances in "The West Wing." In 2012 she returned to the RSC to appear in Hamlet and All's Well That End's Well. Rich originated the role of Baby Houseman in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre. Other stage credits include Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Josie Rourke at Sheffield Crucible, Portia in The Merchant of Venice for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Rosalind in As You Like It at the Rose Theatre.
