News Charlotte d'Amboise to Return to Chicago in November Broadway veteran Charlotte d'Amboise will again return to the New York company of Chicago next month.

From Nov. 3 through Jan. 15, 2006, the singer-dancer-actress will portray merry murderess Roxie Hart in the hit musical at the Ambassador Theatre. D'Amboise replaces stage and screen star Brooke Shields, who will play her final performance Nov. 1. (Robin Givens will take on the Roxie role Jan. 16.)

Chicago currently features Brooke Shields as Roxie Hart, Luba Mason as Velma Kelly, P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart, Debra Monk as Matron "Mama" Morton and Clarke Peters as Billy Flynn.

In addition to Chicago, Charlotte d'Amboise has starred on Broadway in Contact, Cats, Song and Dance, Carrie, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Damn Yankees, Company and Sweet Charity.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.
