The Public Theater celebrated the official opening of Girl From the North Country October 1. The new musical by Bob Dylan and Conor McPherson makes its North American debut following a critically acclaimed, sold-out run at London’s Old Vic and a subsequent West End transfer.

Performances began September 11 and, following a second extension, will continue through December 23.

The Off-Broadway cast is made up of Todd Almond (Iowa) as Elias Burke, Tony nominee Mare Winningham (Casa Valentina) as Elizabeth Laine, Tony nominee Marc Kudisch (Finding Neverland, Hand to God) as Mr. Burke, Hamilton's Sydney James Harcourt as Joe Scott, Dear Evan Hansen's Colton Ryan as Gene Laine, and A Bronx Tale's Kimber Sprawl as Marianne Laine.

The cast also includes Jeannette Bayardelle, Stephen Bogardus, Matthew Frederick Harris, Caitlin Houlahan, Robert Joy, Luba Mason, Tom Nelis, Tony nominee David Pittu, John Schiappa, Rachel Stern, and Chelsea Lee Williams.

The production features scenic and costume design by Rae Smith; lighting design by Mark Henderson; sound design by Simon Baker; orchestrations, arrangements, and musical supervision by Simon Hale; additional arrangements by Simon Hale and Conor McPherson, movement direction by Lucy Hind; and fight direction by UnkleDave’s Fight-House.
