News   Chenoweth's "As I Am" Hits Stores April 5; TV and Live Appearances, Too
Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, most recently on Broadway in Wicked, will release her second solo recording April 5.

Entitled "As I Am," the Sony Classical recording features a mix of inspirational tunes, contemporary hits and gospel favorites. Produced by Chris Harris, the CD features such songs as "It Will Be Me," "The Song Remembers When," "There Will Never Be Another," "Upon This Rock," "When You Abide in Me," "Poor Wayfaring Stranger," "Just As I Am," "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee," "Because He Lives," "Word of God Speak" and Diane Warren's new ballad, "Borrowed Angels." A bonus track of Marcy Heisler's and Zina Goldrich's "Taylor the Latte Boy" is also included.

To mark the release of her new recording, Chenoweth will appear on both the "CBS Early Show" and NBC's "Live at 5" April 5. The award-winning singer-actress will also make an in-store appearance at Lincoln Center's Tower Records the same day. Chenoweth will autograph her new recording and will offer a live performance, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM. Tower Records is located in Manhattan at 1691 Broadway at 66th Street.

Kristin Chenoweth, who received a Tony nomination for her work as Glinda in Stephen Schwartz's Wicked, made her New York theatrical debut opposite Bill Irwin in a production of Molière's Scapin and followed that with a role in Kander and Ebb's Steel Pier. Roles in Off-Broadway's A New Brain, the Broadway comedy Epic Proportions and the City Center Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever ensued. Chenoweth won her Tony for her performance as Sally Brown in the Broadway bow of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Chenoweth will also star in the final Encores! production of the City Center season: The Apple Tree.
