News Chicago's Court Theatre to Stage August Wilson's Fences The Court Theatre of Chicago will stage a new production of August Wilson's most famous drama, Fences, Jan. 12-Feb. 12, 2006. Ron OJ Parson will direct.

Wilson, who died at the age of 60 this past fall, had his biggest Broadway hit with Fences. James Earl Jones and Mary Alice starred in the original production, which won a Tony Award.

Jones played Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro Baseball Leagues who now toils as a garbage collector. In the play, Troy struggles to hold on to his pride, while confronting problems in his relations with his wife and son, who is now dreaming of a career in football.

The Court will follow the staging with a new rendition of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, running March 9-April 9, 2006.
