CHICAGO--Excitement is gathering in advance of the June 8 Joseph Jefferson Citations Wing Presentation, Chicago's version of a Tony Awards ceremony for non-Equity theatre. Held at the Park West nightclub, the annual, non-competitive event will honor multiple winners in all categories of theatrical achievement, artistic and technical. This year's most honored troupes are Circle Theatre (with 12 nominations), followed by Defiant Theatre, Pegasus Players, Redmoon Theater and Shattered Globe Theatre, with seven nominations each. Nominated for outstanding production are some fairly traditional fare--Shattered Globe's All My Sons, a puppet-and-players version of The Ballad of Frankie and Johnny from Redmoon Theater, Pegasus Players' revival of Company, Circle Theatre's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Prop Thtr Group's circus tribute, Sawdust & Spangles.
