Chicago cabaret performers Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael perform the New York City debut of their Romantic Notions Nov. 16 and 18 at Don't Tell Mama.

Lampkin Music Group presents the two-show gig, an evening of songs and stories about "whims, wishes and even a few fantasies." She show has been seen in Chicago.

The romance-laced act includes such songs as "This Nearly Was Mine," "Sailing On," "I Stayed Too Long at the Fair," the jazz classic, "Twisted" and Sondheim's "What Do We Do? We Fly!" The performance is directed by Chicago actor-director Bob Mason.

Both Menzie and Michael have solo careers, but perform often as a duo in Chicago as well as across the country, and both have garnered national praise for their debut CDs on the BeMe Music label. Their duo work, featured on Michael's "Sailing On," has received raves in Billboard, BackStage Magazine, and Cabaret Scenes.

Menzie is an award-winning composer for her work in the musical, Female Problems. There is a $12 cover charge for their shows 10 PM Nov. 16 and 3 PM Nov. 18 at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th Street. For reservations, call (212) 757-0788.
