CHICAGO -- Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its expansion. Last week it completed the purchase of a four-story Victorian building near the theater's three-theater complex. Currently owned by LaSalle Bank, the building will allow the theater to convert its present studio theater/rehearsal room to a full-time producing theater.
The annexation will provide Steppenwolf with additional full-time rehearsal facilities and new administrative offices. And, to think, just 20 years ago Steppenwolf was only able to rent the basement of a church in suburban Highland Park.
