Musical theatre star Chita Rivera told Playbill On-Line she is anticipating doing limited engagements of her own show, Chita and All That Jazz in London, Australia and New York City. The show was in development but was put on hold while Rivera stars in the Paper Mill Playhouse's revival of Anything Goes.

"The one thing I really want to do is my show," Rivera said. "It's kind of a 90-minute biography of all the shows I have been fortunate to do since I first did Call Me Madam in the fifties with Elaine Stritch."

Rivera told Playbill On-Line that she is eager to begin the project and really wants to do it sooner rather than later. "I generally don't talk about something that isn't absolute," Rivera said, "but maybe if I get it out the positive energy will come back."

"We did a version of it last year," River said, "but now we've really fine-tuned it. The main thing is, I want to do it while I still can."

Rivera described the show as comprising "numbers from the shows she's been in." "They're all wonderful," Rivera said, "with wonderful memories and fun stories." Rivera said the inspiration for Chita and All That Jazz came when she was on the tail end of Kiss of the Spider Woman. "I thought I would like to give thanks to all those people that have been responsible for my wonderful career and life," Rivera said.
