Paper Mill Playhouse executive producer Angelo Del Rossi has confirmed that musical theatre legend and two-time Tony Award-winner Chita Rivera will star as Reno Sweeney in Cole Porter's Anything Goes. The play runs Sept. 6 - Oct 15 at New Jersey's State Theatre.
Directed by Broadway and Paper Mill veteran Lee Roy Reams, the show will be choreographed by Michael Lichtefeld.
Also featured in the cast will be Bruce Adler (Broadway and Paper Mill productions of Crazy for You) as Moonface Martin.
Broadway legend Rivera has appeared in numerous musicals over her four decade-plus career. She created roles the musicals West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Rivera won Tony awards for her role in the last two.
Anything Goes includes such classic Porter songs as the title tune, "I Get a Kick Out of You," and "You're the Top." A 1987 Broadway revival of the show featured Patti LuPone as Reno. -- By Murdoch McBride
