News Cindy Marchionda, a Jeff Winner for Spider Woman, to Play the Beechman Jeff Award winner Cindy Marchionda, who was seen in The Wizard of Oz at Madison Square Garden and in the resident Chicago premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, will go it solo at the Laurie Beechman Theatre March 21, 23 and 28.

Andy Gale will direct the three 7 PM performances, which are simply titled Cindy Marchionda: Live at the Beechman. Ray Fellman will be featured at the piano. Marchionda won the Joseph Jefferson Award for playing the title role in Kiss of the Spider Woman at the Apple Tree Theatre in Chicago.

Marchionda's new show, according to press notes, "explores the last two years of Cindy's life, going from the very funny experience of entering another career to expense some very high dental bills to a very sobering reality when her father is diagnosed with Alzheimer's." Expect songs by Jamie Cullum, Leiber and Stoller, Jackson Brown, The Indigo Girls, Johnny Mercer, Randy Newman and The Beatles.

Cindy Marchionda's New York credits include The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story Suite and Our Sinatra: A Musical Celebration. She has been seen in the national tour of A Chorus Line as well as in regional productions of Damn Yankees, West Side Story, On the Town, Man of La Mancha and the one-woman musical Early One Morning.

Marchionda has recently been seen in developmental presentations of the new musical comedy Naughty/Nice.
