News Civil War Holds Talks At Two Borders (Bookstores) In TX, Sept. 19 & 26 Residents of Houston will get a free chance to delve deeper into The Civil War, with two talks with the creators and cast of the musical Sept. 19 and 26 at two different Borders Book & Cafes.

Residents of Houston will get a free chance to delve deeper into The Civil War, with two talks with the creators and cast of the musical Sept. 19 and 26 at two different Borders Book & Cafes. Authors Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy will discuss the processes that created The Civil War, from first inspiration to the show now playing at the Alley Theatre. Gene Miller, who appears in the show as Confederate captain Billy Pierce, and David Lutken (Confederate corporal Henry Stewart) will perform songs from the show.

Both events will take place at noon, the first at the Borders Bookstore & Cafe at 9633A Westheimer Road, the second at the Borders Book & Cafe on 570 Meyerland Plaza.

The Civil War: Our Story In Song runs at the Alley Theatre through Oct. 11, with Broadway performances slated for springtime.
