Classic Arts News Cleveland Orchestra Concerts Will Be Featured in Series of BBC Radio Broadcasts BBC Radio 3 will feature performances by the Cleveland Orchestra on a series that will be broadcast November 5-11.
The broadcasts will also be available at www.bbc.co.uk/radio3.

The series will feature works from the orchestra's last three seasons, including concert performances of Verdi's Don Carlo, with Samuel Ramey, Simon Keenlyside, and Miriam Gauci, and Strauss's Elektra, with Christine Brewer, Lisa Gasteen, and Volker Vogel.

Other concert programs include Debussy's Jeux and Bruckner's Symphony No. 7; Haydn's Symphony No. 73 and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11; Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks, Beethoven's Symphony No. 1, Dutilleux's Symphony No. 2, and Ravel's Bolero; Webern's Five Movements for Strings, Boulez's Notations Nos. 1, 7, 4, 3, and 2, and Stravinsky's Firebird; and, finally, Britten's War Requiem.

All of the concerts but one were conducted by music director Franz Welser-M‹st, with one conducted by Pierre Boulez. Also featured during the series are interviews with Welser-M‹st and Cleveland Orchestra musicians.
