Clinton The Musical Offering 50 Free Tix to Tonight's Performance | Playbill

News Clinton The Musical Offering 50 Free Tix to Tonight's Performance Producers Kari Lynn Hearn of CoolChic Productions and Ken Davenport are helping to bring democracy to New World Stages, located at 340 W. 50th St., April 3.

The first 50 people to register to vote at Clinton The Musical at New World Stages will receive a free ticket to tonight's performance. The registration table, situated in the lobby of New World Stages, will open at 6:45 PM; show time is 8 PM.

"As the mother of two first-time voters in this upcoming election, I feel it is important for young people to understand the value of their voice," stated producer Kari Lynn Hearn. "It is not only their right, but their responsibility to help influence their community and the world at large by registering to vote. Although Clinton The Musical is a comedic look at politics and the White House during the 90’s, it is hard to ignore the fact that we may be on the verge of another ground-breaking election. I want to encourage more people to be involved in the process and what better way than to reward that participation with a free ticket to a fun, new musical!"

Clinton The Musical, by Paul Hodge and Michael Hodge, is currently in previews prior to an official opening April 9. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Dan Knechtges, the cast is headed by Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler as Hillary (Rodham) Clinton, Tom Galantich as WJ Clinton, Duke Lafoon as Billy Clinton, Emmy Award winner Judy Gold as Eleanor Roosevelt, John Treacy Egan as Newt Gingrich, Veronica J. Kuehn as Monica Lewinsky and Kevin Zak as Kenneth Starr.

"It’s 1992. Scrunchies are in and mullets are out. ‘Baywatch’ is a hit and Time Magazine’s Man of the Year is Bill Clinton," according to press notes. "He’s optimistic, charismatic, and he’s bringing saxy back! Clinton the Musical is a sensational and satirical look at the 42nd President who upholds the ideals of Lady Liberty while simultaneously charming the pantsuit off her. With Hillary by his side, he’s bringing new life to the party."

Tickets are $75-$95 and can be purchased at Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or at www.telecharge.com.
