Classic Arts News Columbus's BalletMet Purchases Headquarters BalletMet of Columbus, Ohio, has purchased the Dance Centre, the building that has served as its headquarters for the last 15 years.
The company paid $4.85 million for the 35,000-square-foot building, two warehouses, and a parking lot. The company will move its set-building operations into one of the warehouses.

The 27-year-old company has been run out of a series of different spaces, including a space above a deli and a church. Since 1990, it has leased the Dance Centre, where its administrative offices, dance studios, school, and costume shop are located.

In a statement, the company said that the purchase "firmly achors BalletMet in downtown Columbus..... BalletMet's permanent home will continue to serve as a busy cultural hub, energizing its neighborhood and continuing to draw diverse constituencies into the city."
